The national Miners’ Strike has been over for ten years but in the coal communities of South Yorkshire tensions still simmer and old wounds are slow to heal. 

The miners of Grimley now face the challenge of pit closure and redundancies – but if the pit goes, it looks like their beloved brass band will be disbanded too. 

Determined to play through, band master Danny is sure that his mining musicians can get all the way through to the British Championships at the Royal Albert Hall.
